Heathdene Early Learning Program H.E.L.P.
There is provision within the program to include children who have additional needs in the area of mild to moderate developmental delays, disabilities or difficulties. Ultimately, including children with any additional needs is about equity, respect for diversity and having high expectations. Educators apply those principles to ensure that all children participate fully in the curriculum and progress in all areas described in the Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes.
A parent support group meets once or twice a term for families with children who have additional needs. This group has two main goals. The first is to connect parents with each other and our educators. The second is to connect parents with community resource staff such as local therapists, funding bodies, government departments such as the Department of Education, local Independent Schools and Catholic Schools.
